SALARY: £23k – £30k depending on experience

Our client is the UK’s leading provider of ultra-high-pressure water jetting services for Cold cutting, Concrete Hydrodemolition, Refinery services.
Due to ongoing success the company is actively seeking an experienced Estimator. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business. The role will be based near Romsey in the South of England.
THE ROLE (not limited to):
The role purpose is to take live enquires and assess/quantify the resources required (Time, equipment, people subcontract services etc) to deliver client requirements and prepare quotations and commercial documentation accordingly.
Defining and quantifying requirements to fulfil specific contracts through site visits, site surveys and/or liaison with client staff, take off’s from drawings etc.
Defining any sub-contractor requirements and gathering quotes accordingly.
To involve Contracts department at early stages of projects to ensure their “buy in” and advice prior to the quote being finalised.
From an accurate assessment of the client’s requirements (above) prepare quotations and any other relevant commercial documentation as per the agreed process.
To attend pre-contract/pre-let meetings as and when required and/or as directed
Researching materials, equipment and any costs that may be applicable to fulfilling the Clients requirements.
Preparing tender documentation and preparation of bids as and when required
Carry out “wash up” analysis (Actual performance versus quoted parameters) for projects to ascertain accuracy of estimating process and present these for discussion at Team meetings.
Must have previous site experience gained in a similar role in either a construction or engineering environment.
Educated to degree level with strong numeracy skills.
Project management skills, a problem-solving ability and a keen attention to detail are also required to successfully fulfil the role.
Possess a positive “can do” attitude coupled with a pleasant demeanour are essential to the success of the role and fitting into the dynamic working environment.
On site surveying capabilities.
Able to read and interpret construction plans and engineering drawings
A commitment to continuous improvement
Good working knowledge and ability to use the Microsoft office suite of programs in particular, Word, Excel and Outlook. Use of the CRM database “ACT”. (Training will be provided for this).
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to discuss at all levels.
Be flexible- Considerable travel and nights away from home to visit client sites and to carry out site surveys will be required and are an integral part of the role.
