Thankfully we have a large number of dedicated professionals who take on the responsibility of health and safety. It is one such individual that we are currently looking to talk to.
We work with a wide variety of companies from start-up to established contractor – this particular employer is in an exciting development phase and the growth they have enjoyed means they really need a dedicated individual who has experience of a multitude of facets pertaining to health and safety within a civil engineering environment.
The main responsibilities of the role will be to:
* Manage the Health, Safety and Environmental responsibilities of the Company. * Manage the Company’s library of Health, Safety and Environmental documents, ensuring that they are up to date with any new legislation. * Ensure that site working is carried out in line with HSE regulations by a programme of site audits. * Produce risk assessments and method statements (including both generic and site-specific RAMS) * Ensure that site working is carried out to a high standard of quality. * Ensure the requirements of the Company’s Operators licence are maintained, advising the Company Directors of any discrepancies. * Ensure that HGV driver hours are assessed and records maintained, with any discrepancies reported to the Company Directors. * Ensure all jobs/tasks are completed in line with the company procedures and policies. * Ensure that all new staff members have received a Company induction. * Ensure staff training matrix is HSE compliant and records of PPE/Safety equipment issued and ensure the equipment is tested and HSE Compliant. * Completion of any PQQs that the Company receives. * Assist with the setting up of jobs on site. * Liaison between sales team and operational staff. * Maintain RISQS (Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme) standards. * Carry out Accident and Incident Investigations * Collate and close out all Near Misses.
We really need someone who wants to ‘get stuck in’ and make themselves an indispensable member of the team who not only supports but also drives a commitment to H&S across the company.
