Water & Environment Business Unit faces five primary market sectors in UK, Ireland and wider Europe. These are: Environmental and Consenting Services, around broad range of major infrastructure projects in UK and Ireland; Water Catchment Flood and Coastal Risk Management; Ports; Regulated Utilities market across water, energy and emerging telecoms strand; and Ground Engineering and Tunnelling. Jacobs Ports and Maritime provides specialist technical services in coastal zone infrastructure development. Our team specialises in commercial ports, bulk terminals, naval bases, breakwaters and coastal defences, dredging and reclamation, marine off-loading facilities and sea water intakes and outfalls. We support a wide range of major UK and international clients across the maritime, defence, energy and transport sectors.
We are currently in the midst of an exciting investment period for Jacobs Ports and Maritime during which we aim to achieve considerable and sustained profitable growth. This will provide great opportunities for you to work across a broad portfolio of projects and will offer a platform to gain significant experience.
We are seeking a junior CAD Technician to be based in our Glasgow office and to work closely with the Maritime CAD team.
You will be required to undertake CAD work on a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects, in line with the Employers Information Requirements and company/industry standards.
Our projects lie within the Water and Environment sector, but we also carry out CAD work for other parts of the business.
Production of 2D technical CAD drawings
Provide digital delivery related technical solutions.
To carry out inspections of existing structures and produce reports documenting the inspection work.
To produce project feasibility studies.Essential:
Working knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD.
Good analytical, technical and IT skills.
Requires good interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Beneficial to have a basic knowledge of BIM software such as Revit, Dynamo, Civil 3D and Navisworks but not essential.
