What is the role
Due to the current and future workload requirements within BMT, we are seeking to expand our Submarine Engineering team with candidates at Engineer level through to Senior and Principal Engineer. As a member of the team, you will provide high-level submarine technical expertise and professionalism to our clients and partners, as well as developing new business and contributing to our internal R&D work on future submarine design concepts.
To be successful in the role you will have:
HND/HNC and/or a Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline i.e. Mechanical/ Electrical/ Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture;
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a recognised professional body or have a demonstrable route to achieving this;
Experience of conventional or nuclear submarine design, manufacture, operation, support and/or disposal;
Knowledge and understanding of submarine systems and equipment;
The ability and experience to develop close working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders & interfaces to progress business and programme demands.
The following experience is desirable but not essential;
Experience of MoD working practices;
Naval ship yard design and in service experience.
