Position: Product Design Developer
Location: St James`s Palace
Salary: £25,000 – £29,000 per annum, plus benefits
Contract: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Through our permanent and seasonal shops, and a growing eCommerce business, our retail operation generates revenue that is directly invested into the care and conservation of the Royal Collection.
Joining the heart of our team, you’ll work collaboratively with the various functions of the retail operation, providing creative expertise across all of our activity.
You’ll play a big part in our product development process, helping to take product ideas from conception through to shop floor.
You’ll research and provide your own suggestions for product ranges that reflect the magnificence of the Royal Collection and their surroundings, before creating various product designs, concepts and mock ups.
And once you’ve helped bring a product to fruition, you’ll take the lead preparing photo shoots for products, and producing training materials for our Retail teams on to help ensure a successful product launch.
You’ll also support our graphic design requirements, producing a variety of visual graphics for use in our shops and online. You’ll be the key point of contact for reprographic agencies, and will help ensure that consistency is maintained across all of our platforms
Whether you’re producing point-of-sale signage, retouching photos of our new range, or designing a banner for the online shop, you’ll be pushed to develop your technical skills. And seeing the results of your work will give you a real sense of achievement.
With a degree (or equivalent) in a design subject and a broad knowledge of bringing products to market, you’re ready to make the impact we need.
You’ve worked in product development before so you are experienced with printing, manufacturing and packaging, ideally within a high-end or luxury retailer. You’re also an experienced graphic designer or art worker and able to use InDesign, Photoshop and other Creative Suite 6 programmes expertly.
With a creativity that is second-to-none, you’ll be in your element producing graphics and imagery for use across all of our retail outlets. Your keen eye for detail means you complete all tasks with faultless accuracy too.
You’ll need to be meticulously organised as well. Driven by deadlines but adaptable to changing needs, you’ll remain calm and collected even when juggling a range of priorities and projects.
With excellent interpersonal skills and a confident communicator, you enjoy working with all kinds of people, and can quickly build great working relationships.
