Our client is a major Building and Civil Engineering Contractor operating throughout the UK
Due to an increasing workload, they now have a requirement for a Project Director or Senior Project Manager from a main construction contractor background to get involved in a recent £multi-million construction award in the Newcastle area.
Previous and similar demonstrable experience of working at this level with a major UK contractor is essential

Reporting directly to the Operations Director Overseeing projects from start to finish Project planning, budgeting and identification of resources required Building teams, developing goals and objectives and assigning responsibilities Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular progress meetings with the stakeholders Ensure projects documents are in order Co-ordinate all parties involved in the project To maintain a high standard of health and safety on site and within the companies health and safety policy To control all site activities and deal with any site problems or queries To manage project within budget and on time To maintain a high standard of finish on the project
The successful candidate will have
Proven experience in a similar role in a main build contractor environment Ability to demonstrate a track record of experience in dealing with clients at a senior level Significant post qualification experience of project management and/or contract administration of building works of all sizes, including fit out and refurbishment, and covering both traditional and design and build procurement Demonstrate experience in working to agreed targets within a commercial environment
