Our client, a well-established and successful engineering manufacturer has identified a need to appoint a QHSE Manager to their management team. Role Summary: Their role will be to manage, support deliver training and advise Managers and Employees across the plant with regards to health and safety both in the factory and offices and when employees are working on customer sites. and with 3rd party contractors This is coupled with overall responsibility for the Quality management system to ISO9001. Candidates must have demonstrable experience of developing and implementing an integrated QHSE management within a manufacturing business to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities: Effectively manage, advise and train Managers and Employees within the company to ensure a safe workplace environment is maintained for all plus visitors and contractors. Lead the company’s transition and implementation of an integrated QHSE management system (IMS) compliant with the requirements of ISO 9001/14001 and 45001 within 6 months of release of an agreed plan. Manage and develop the QHSE team Manage the ongoing Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and effectively communicate such to ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities. Manage systems and processes for H&S Inductions for all stakeholders Manager effective systems for the control of PPE including selection, control, maintenance and monitoring. Implement effective audits for QHSE across the business including Internal Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Assurance Ensure that all H &S policies, procedures and regulations are adhered to and regularly reviewed, updated and communicated. Ensure that all statutory checks are undertaken, documented and accessible to include but not limited to; Loler, ATEX, electrical infrastructure, water, gas, workplace monitoring, LEV checks, Forklift Trucks, First Aid arrangements. Keep up to date with changes in relevant QHSE and communicate such to the business. Liaise with suppliers, Insurers, Solicitors HSE as required Provide regular reports to the senior management team relevant to QHSE activities and progress against targets.
Qualifications Knowledge and Experience: Proven track record of QHSE Management in a manufacturing environment Lead Auditor qualified (essential) NEBOSH or working towards Working knowledge of H &S legislation and Environmental legislation Experience of managing quality to ISO 9001 Experience of Conducting health and safety investigations Multi-site experience Managing performance data and KPIs Excel skills Project management skills Multi-tasker Excellent communication skills (presentations ,toolbox talks etc) Pragmatic Able to travel to other sites to conduct audits as required
