I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Interim Engineering Manager to join Doncaster Sheffield Airport on an initial 6-month contract.

The Opportunity

• Client: Doncaster Sheffield Airport
• Contract: Initial 6 months
• Rate: £450 + PER DAY
• Working Pattern:
• Site-based.

Key Responsibilities
– Lead and manage a team of 8 engineers across multiple shift patterns.
– Ensure the safe and effective maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical assets.
– Provide technical leadership within a live operational environment where reliability and service continuity are essential.
– Support reactive maintenance activities and participate in an out-of-hours on-call escalation process.
– Work closely with operational and asset management teams to drive performance, compliance and continuous improvement.

Essential Experience
– Strong electrical engineering background with supporting mechanical knowledge.
– Experience working with high-voltage systems and exposure to substation environments.
– Excellent understanding of electrical systems, safety procedures and operational processes.
– Previous engineering management or team leadership experience.
– Experience within complex, operational or safety-critical environments.

Desirable Experience
– Aviation, transport, logistics, manufacturing, utilities or other large operational environments.
– Exposure to automated systems, materials handling equipment, security infrastructure or similar critical assets.
– Experience managing maintenance delivery where operational downtime must be carefully controlled

Working Arrangements
– Site-based.
– Monday to Friday.
– Participation in an on-call rota with additional payments available.
– Interviews will be held face-to-face.
– Immediate start preferred.
