Construction Quantity Surveyor 18-month contract 24 hours per week 60 per hour – Inside IR35 Port Glasgow – Hybrid
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare cost estimates, budgets and cost plans Monitor project costs, risks and financial exposure Prepare financial reports, forecasts and cost reports Manage procurement and tendering activities Prepare tender documentation, BoQs and pricing schedules Evaluate subcontractor and supplier tenders Administer NEC construction contracts Manage variations, change orders and contractual claims Prepare interim valuations and final accounts Assess subcontractor applications and payment certificates Identify commercial risks and support value engineering Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors and consultants Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction Strong knowledge of UK construction practices NEC contract experience Strong commercial and financial awareness Experience with cost management, procurement and contract administration Experience managing variations, claims and final accounts Strong numerical, analytical and negotiation skills Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related subject
DESIRABLE:
RICS, CIOB or similar professional membership Experience working on large-scale construction or transformation projects Strong NEC contract administration experience Experience within complex engineering, manufacturing or infrastructure environments
