Job Overview

Title: Site Inspectors / Clerk of Works

Location: London Gateway, Corringham, Essex

Rate: £300 – £350 per day (Outside IR35) (DOE)

Contract: Until 30th June 2027

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 54 hour working week, 08 00 Monday to Saturday. Additional evening, night and weekend work may be required with a rotating 12 days on / 2 days off night shift pattern where applicable.

Schedule: 1 hour unpaid lunch. On site role based at DP World London Gateway, Corringham, Essex.

Responsibilities

• Inspect civil and marine construction works to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Monitor contractor workmanship, quality and adherence to health & safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily site records, inspection reports and photographic evidence.
• Review project documentation including RAMS, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and material submissions.
• Identify and report quality issues, non conformances and safety concerns.
• Liaise with the site team, contractors and client representatives to support successful project delivery.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with contractual and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Site Inspector, Clerk of Works, Site Engineer or similar within civil engineering, marine or heavy infrastructure projects.
• Engineering qualification (Degree, HNC or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of construction quality assurance and inspection processes.
• Good report writing and record keeping skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• CSCS White Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
